Mary Ellen Owens
Licensed Professional Counselor
I have been working as a mental health counselor since 2017 with a majority of that time spent working with victims of sexual trauma and domestic violence. Since starting my own practice, I enjoy not only working with trauma, but helping those feeling challenged with life transitions, or who feel stuck and can't seem to find their way.
I am an EMDR trained therapist and use a variety of trauma-informed approaches to help clients move beyond traumatic experiences and challenging situations. I am experienced in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. In addition, I have experience working with self-esteem challenges, codependency, life transitions, and stress management.
I strive to provide clients with hope and the ability to overcome their individual challenges. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the therapy process. Along the way, I have learned that being myself as a therapist allows for great relationships to form. I feel accomplished in helping my Clients feel comfortable and relaxed in a safe and trusting relationship. With trust and safety in a relationship, change and healing happens. My clients appreciate my compassion and genuineness that I bring to session.
